Free Copy of Adobe Lightroom
You can download the latest version of the excellent photo processing and editing software Lightroom by Adobe for free. This copy is the latest beta version and will expire at the end of May, but it’s a great way to try out the $299 software for free for a few months.
Lightroom does too many things to even go into here and may be a bit off topic for web design but it’s an excellent software package for anyone who uses digital photos. 3 months is plenty of time to get to know it.
Free Online Color Tool
ColorExplorer is a great, easy to use colour palette tool. You can extract a palette from an image you like, add or remove colours from a custom palette. Choose a base colour and let it create palettes based on an algorithm you choose from a drop down menu (complimentary, Colormatch 5K, Triadic, etc.)
You can also do a contrast analysis, colour conversion between different systems or simply view a pickable list of swatches in from various libraries such as, W3C named, Websafe, RAL, TOYO, Focaltone, Trumatch. All of which can be sorted by hue, lightness or saturation.
