Starting with MAC and Linux, here’s a roundup of many of the best free batch image resizers and processors. I’ve started with the multi platform and Mac software as they are harder to find then the rest of the list of batch image resizers is all PC only.

This free (donate if you like it) cross-platform image processor supports PC, Mac and Linux with a graphical user interface. You can also create a ‘droplet’ and simply select your images and drop them onto the droplet for automatic processing.

This batch image resizer is an Adobe Air application so it runs on both Mac and PC. Select your desired size, rotation if any (can auto rotate according to camera EXIF info) then choose your renaming options and output folder, then drop your pictures onto the app and let it do the rest.

(PC Only)

This image resizer can not only do batch resizing but is a good option if you want to rename, including replace spaces with underscores, add a prefix or a suffix. Other features are:

DropResize
(PC Only)

This one is a bit different but if you need to consistently process and resize images to a particular size this might be the option for you. Dropresize sets up a special folder or folders and then automatically resizes images you drop into them according to your specifications. Useful if you have a blog where every image you post to it has to be the same size and rather than opening an image processing app, you just drop the image into the dropresize folder and you’re done.
