Free Flash Banners

create a free flash banner online

Bannersnack gives you a configurable template style tool to create animated Flash banners. The free versions are watermarked though a fee of $9 will remove it. That’s considerably cheaper than hiring a Flash designer. If you have the money, a good designer will always outperform a free service like this, but if you are on a tight budget this may be a great option for you.

Build a Free Flash Website Online

Free-Flash-Website-Builder

Build a Flash website online for free, and with free hosting. I wouldn’t  place my online business here but I would consider it for a quick event site for example, or a demo site, or quick gallery/portfolio site, or…etc.
No knowledge of Flash is needed and the user interface seems quite sophisticated. Your free account includes:

  • Flash Sitebuilder - 20 pages
  • 10 MB Web space
  • 100 MB monthly traffic
  • 1 Cabanova Webmail account

You can upgrade to the premium service for features like 2 gigs of web space, unlimited pages, domain name and more, but at $20 to $30 per month it will be hard to justify unless you really have no other way to create a website (or have no knowledge of Flash)

Still, the free version could be just what you need for  a quick flashy Flash site.

Website Analytics and Beyond

nuconomy web analytics

If you are a fan of Google Analytics you will flip over nuconomy. While Google Analytics gives you all types of drillable data about who came from where, what they clicked on, and how long they stayed, nuconomy gives you that and more (and for free…for now)

In the image above you will see a graph of how many viewers watched a particular online video, and for how long. You can tell if people dropped off at a particular moment in the video, how many people watched it all the way through, how many fast forwarded and the list goes on.

And that’s just one example. You can get data about how Flash, Java and other scripted elements are viewed as well as all the usual data…what country visitors came from, what pages they viewed, where they entered and exited, etc. etc.  If you are interested I highly recommend that you sign up now before the beta registration closes. The one caveat I should mention is that it is a bit more complicated to install than Google Analytics, but they claim that even a large website can be done in about an hour.

For bloggers, though I haven’t tried it, there is apparently a plugin (widget?) version for WordPress that can be installed in seconds.
