If you want to use a freeware Flash element, video, script, etc and want to know what version of Flash plugin it requires, this webtool will give you all the info you need.

Flashmo.com has many free Flash elements such as menus, slideshow viewers, buttons as well as some very sophisticated website templates.
ToobPlayer is a very, very, tiny (18kb) and free, flash player. There is also a great video tutorial to help get you started.
This site offers downloadable flash elements (loaders, calendars, video players, etc) They also sell Video, Fonts and Audio files
I should note that this is a rare post linking to a non-free resource, but they are quite affordable.
Andrew Berg has created a nice small Flash Photo browser. Click on an image and it flips it to the back of the stack, much like one would when looking through a stack of photos in your hands. Replace the images with your own images (keeping the same name) to implement.
Simple Viewer is a tiny and free modifiable flash gallery viewer. Perhaps it’s greatest strength is that it is only 17k in size!
